Divorce is defined in Black's Law Dictionary as "the legal separation of a man and wife." A simple definition for a most complex event.

As matrimonial attorneys, we know that divorce is much more than a dry, legal pronouncement of the end of a marriage. Divorce is the destruction of a dream, the death of a marriage and the loss of the security implied by that relationship. Accompanying this demise is a series of emotional, property, custodial, financial and legal changes that can be disastrous if not properly managed.

We cannot perform the miracle of repairing a broken marriage. We cannot eliminate entirely the hurt that our clients and their children suffer through divorce and custody proceedings. We can and do, however, utilize our knowledge and experience to strive to obtain for our clients as much in the way of property, financial, custodial and other legal protections as the law allows. It is our goal as matrimonial attorneys to minimize the devastation of divorce and to maximize the legal benefits for our clients.
